Note: In our experience,
many hotels in the United States offer rooms with 2 double or queen
beds. A family of 5 may reserve this type of room online, and then
call the hotel to request a rollaway or crib addition. Or, a family
of 5 may reserve this type of room online, and then request a rollaway
or crib addition upon arrival. It is probably best to reserve the rollaway
or crib before arrival, as there may be a limited number of rollaways
or cribs available, and there may be only a couple of rooms with enough
floor space to accommodate an extra bed. Also, there are a few hotels
that will not allow 5 in a room, even with 2 doubles, but may make
an exception if one of the children is very young.
For most of the Sleeps5.com
hotels, the information about whether a room can accommodate a family
of 5 is not listed on the hotel website, nor on online hotel search
services, and may not even be offered through the hotel's own reservation
line. For most of the Sleeps5.com hotels, we obtained the 'yes' responses
by phoning the front desk directly and asking.
The Tahiti Village Resort and Spa is located on the Las Vegas Strip just south of the airport. They provide shuttle service to the to the main attractions. Otherwise, if you have a rental car, all parking is free in the casinos. Our room was a two bedroom and pull out sofa with a kitchen and patio area. It could sleep six comfortably and or up to eight. The pool was large and full of kids. The lazy river is a seperate pool that winds around an "island". Guests are gently jettisoned around either on inner tubes which can be rented for $5 or on their own devices. The hotel definitely caters to families. The omnipresent smell of smoke which infilitrates all the casinos on the Strip was not nearly so profound at this location. There is a small covenience store which provides the basics for in room dining especially breakfast, otherwise head up to the Whole Foods grocery store and stock up. These are "timeshare" condos that function as a hotel. While near the airport, we were not overwhelmed with air traffic noise. There were many Europeans at this location.
